CWEA is hosting a specialized training session to discuss control schemes that optimize operations at wastewater pump stations. Operators, Maintenance Personnel, Design Engineers, Facility Managers and Supervisors will benefit from these training sessions designed to educate participants on the systems used for operation and monitoring of the pumps. The program will be structured to add to the knowledge and skills of station operators and maintenance personnel, as well as provide for management, improved personnel performance, along with financial and safety benefits.
Bruce Borders is the featured speaker and has been involved in control systems for more than 30 years with Control Systems West, Inc. His broad experience includes all aspects of control configurations related to wastewater treatment systems. Bruce is particularly adept at hands-on operational troubleshooting, which leads to improved system performance and simplified operational interfaces. Since 2004, Bruce has served as the President of Control Systems West, Inc. His company is actively involved with CWEA, HWEA, AWWA and has also participated at many related organizational functions and training sessions.
Topics covered in detail include Basic Control and will discuss specialized features such as station trouble monitoring and status communication. This special session falls under the Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance & Safety, Water/Wastewater training type and is approved for the CWEA Recertification Requirement (4 Contact Hours) in the following categories: (1) Collection System Maintenance – CSM, (2) Environmental Compliance Inspector – ECI, (3) Plant Maintenance – PM, (4) Mechanical Technologist – MT, (5) Electrical/Instrumentation – E/I and, (6) Operator.
